How to use the WhatsApp Bulk Portal from signup through bulk sends. Sign in to access API keys and the dashboard.

How the portal works

This portal lets your organization send WhatsApp template messages to many customers at once. WhatsApp only allows outbound marketing and utility messages through pre-approved templates—you cannot send arbitrary free-text blasts.

  1. Buy credits (each message consumes credits based on destination country and template category).
  2. Connect your WhatsApp Business account via Facebook.
  3. Create or sync message templates; Meta reviews new templates before you can send them.
  4. Run bulk jobs to deliver a template to a list of phone numbers—optionally with different personalized values per recipient (via Excel).

Messages are sent from your connected business phone number. Track jobs under Bulk after you sign in.

Getting started

  1. 1. Buy credits

Go to Credits, choose a package (500, 1000, or 1500 credits), and complete checkout.

  2. 2. Register

After payment you receive a signup link. Create your organization name, email, and password.

  3. 3. Sign in

Use Sign in. Credits are added to your account (valid for 30 days from purchase).

  4. 4. Connect WhatsApp

Follow the steps in the next section before creating templates or bulk jobs.

Connect WhatsApp (Facebook)

Open WhatsApp in the menu (after sign-in).

  1. Click Connect with Facebook.
  2. Sign in with the Meta/Facebook account that manages your WhatsApp Business account and phone number.
  3. Grant the requested permissions and select the business assets (WABA and phone number) when prompted.
  4. Wait until the page shows Connected and your business phone number.
Tips
  • Use the same Meta user that owns or administers the WhatsApp Business account in Meta Business Suite.
  • If you are redirected here when opening Templates or Bulk, finish connecting first—the portal blocks those pages until setup is complete.
  • To disconnect, use Disconnect and clear tokens on the WhatsApp page (you will need to connect again before sending).

Message templates

Go to Templates. The list stays synced with Meta—only templates on your WhatsApp Business account appear here.

Create a new template

  1. Click New template.
  2. Enter a name (lowercase letters, numbers, underscores only—e.g. order_ready). Names cannot be changed later except via Rename (creates a new template on Meta).
  3. Choose language (e.g. en_US)—must match what Meta will approve.
  4. Pick a category: Utility, Authentication, or Marketing. Credit cost per message depends on category and destination country (see Credits & pricing).
  5. Write the body. Use + Add variable to insert placeholders {{1}}, {{2}}, etc. Do not type {{1}} manually—the editor assigns the next free number.
  6. Click Create on Meta. Status becomes PendingMeta until Meta approves or rejects it.

After approval

When status is Approved, the template can be used in bulk jobs. Meta may assign a different category than you submitted—the portal shows the effective category for billing.

Edit, rename, delete

  • Edit — change body or category; Meta reviews again.
  • Rename — creates a new template name on Meta and removes the old one.
  • Delete — removes the template from Meta (not allowed if it was already used in a bulk job).

Copy the API ID column if you use the REST API—that UUID is the templateId.

Bulk messaging

Open BulkNew bulk job (or use the dashboard shortcut). Only Approved templates are listed.

Templates without variables

If the template body has no {{n}} placeholders, paste phone numbers in the Recipients (paste) box—one per line, in E.164 format (e.g. +15551234567). You can also upload Excel with only a phone column.

Templates with variables

If the template uses {{1}}, {{2}}, etc., you must upload an Excel file. Pasting phone numbers alone is not enough—the portal needs one row per recipient with values for each variable.

You do not put the full message text in Excel. You put the replacement values that Meta inserts into the approved template.

Destination country

Select the destination country for the whole job. Every phone number must be valid for that country (E.164 with the correct country code). The portal shows an estimated credit cost before you enqueue.

Enqueue and track

  1. Click Enqueue job. Credits are checked upfront (estimated total for that destination and template category).
  2. Open the job Details page to see each recipient: sent, failed, or error reason.
  3. Credits are charged per successful send.

Excel format for variables

Upload a .xlsx file on the bulk job form. The first row must be headers.

Required columns

  • phone (or e164, mobile, number) — E.164 format with country code, e.g. +15551234567.
  • var1, var2, … — one column per template variable. var1 replaces {{1}}, var2 replaces {{2}}, etc. Headers {{1}}, {{2}} also work.

Example template

Hello {{1}},
your order number {{2}} is ready for pickup.
thank you.

Example Excel (two recipients)

phone var1 var2
+15551234567 Mr Paul 123123123
+447700900123 Mr Georges 45567845

Customer 1 receives: “Hello Mr Paul, your order number 123123123 is ready for pickup…”

Common issues

  • Missing var2 when the template has {{2}} — upload fails validation.
  • Phone without + — the portal adds + if missing; include country code.
  • Empty rows are skipped; invalid phones are skipped.

Credits & pricing

Message cost is shown in credits only. It depends on the destination country and template category (Utility, Authentication, or Marketing). Cheaper and more expensive destinations scale fairly—higher Meta regions use more credits, not a flat one-size price.

  • Credit cost scales with destination and category—use the Country pricing page to compare before you buy credits.
  • Example: one country might be 2 credits per utility message and 5 for marketing; another destination will differ.
  • Rates are updated periodically and can change over time (new bulk jobs use current rates; jobs already queued keep their estimate).
  • Credits expire 30 days after purchase.
  • Insufficient credits block new bulk jobs at creation time.
Country ISO Category Credits/msg
United States US Utility 1
United States US Marketing 3
Lebanon LB Utility 2
Lebanon LB Marketing 4
India IN Utility 1
India IN Marketing 2
United Kingdom GB Authentication 3

Rates vary by destination and category. Your job uses the cost for the country you select.
